ON 11/07/2020, A VANGUARD PROTECTION PATROL OFFICER ASSIGNED TO THE CANYON COUNTRY BEAT AREA WAS PATROLLING A CLIENT PROPERTY WHEN HE OBSERVED SEVERAL MALES STANDING IN A DARK DRIVEWAY AT 0120 HOURS IN THE MORNING.
THE OFFICER STOPPED TO MAKE CONTACT WITH THE GROUP AND QUICKLY LEARNED THAT TWO MALE RESIDENTS HAD FOUND THE THIRD MALE (WHO THEY DID NOT KNOW) GOING THROUGH THEIR VEHICLE. THE GLOVEBOX HAD BEEN EMPTIED OUT, AND HIS SEARCH HAD BEEN INTERRUPTED.
THE SUSPECT WAS HEAVILY UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF XANAX AND ADMITTED TO HAVING A SIMULATED FIREARM ON HIM. ALSO ON THE SUSPECT WERE 5 CELL PHONES, MISC CAR ACCESSORIES, AND A SET OF CAR KEYS WHICH DID NOT BELONG TO HIM.
LASD WAS NOTIFIED AND ARRIVED SHORTLY THEREAFTER TO ASSIST. DUE TO THE SUSPECT'S CONDITION, HE WAS TRANSPORTED BY LAFD TO A NEARBY HOSPITAL FOR MEDICAL EVALUATION AND TREATMENT.
