Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Please see below for some of our more frequently asked questions. If you have a question which hasn’t been answered already, feel free to reach out and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

What length term are your service contracts?

Our contracts vary in length depending on the industry serviced. For government and specialty contracts they are usually several years, while private sector contracts can be as short as 1 year or longer. While we do offer month-to-month billing for some patrol contracts, the contractual based agreements offer the largest savings. Think of it like a residential lease; signing a 1-year lease agreement is always more cost effective than paying month-to-month.

How do Vanguard officers handle incidents? Do you just make a report, or can you make an arrest if needed?

Yes, we make arrests according to the law and when that is the best course of action. Our officers are very proactive and take a hands-on approach. Rather than simply re-reporting something to other local authorities, we will handle the situation for you. We also have an excellent rapport with the local police and sheriff departments and work with them to track and suppress crime in the area.

I got a cheaper quote, why should I choose Vanguard?

We pride ourselves on providing an unmatched level of service at Vanguard Protection. Competitors may offer a lower quote just to obtain the business, but these unrealistic quotes are followed up with poor service, or service is not performed at all and their officers are poorly trained, ill-equipped, and do little or nothing to protect your property.

At Vanguard, we quote according to the client’s needs but also account for realistic operating expenses and the higher echelon of service which we provide. Our performance is verifiable through our transparency with our clients, and our patrols are thorough – with exemplary reporting.

A potential client can choose to go with a lowball quote, but the cost is inevitably higher in the long run when service is poor and they end up looking for another company soon thereafter. As the old adage goes, you truly do get what you pay for.

What areas do you service?

While we are available statewide, we currently focus on  greater southern California, including Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange, San Diego, Riverside, San Luis Obispo, Kern, and San Bernardino counties. With locations in the Santa Clarita Valley (Valencia, Santa Clarita, and Canyon Country) and also Los Angeles (currently servicing Brentwood, West Los Angeles, Culver City, Santa Monica, Bel Air, Long Beach, Beverly Hills, and El Segundo), we’re available for your protection needs. For specific service area requests, contact us today so we can discuss your individual needs.

Are all your officers armed?

Vanguard Protection prefers all our officers are armed for officer safety reasons. Each officer is highly trained with extensive range time which far exceeds state minimum standards. And in most cases, select officers are also prior military, ex-law enforcement officers, and concealed carry permit holders so the experience is definitely there. However, if you have a special request for an unarmed officer, please contact us to discuss your specific needs so we can work with you to accommodate the detail.

I have my alarm monitored by a different company, but want Vanguard to respond if it goes off. Is this possible?

Yes, if you have your alarm set up and monitored through another company but wish to have us respond to an activation, we can do that. Simply call your current alarm company and provide them our name and phone number for dispatch. In the event an alarm is triggered they will call us to respond.
